Finding the Truth is Going to be a Long Journey

I love this piece done by a woman whose blog I follow. Her blog is called Kristy's Musings.

Bathtime for Rachel :-P

The two rubber duckies didn't show that well in the pic. One caught the flash glare and the other is hidden by the pull-out tag.

As always, I hope she likes it. I sent her some other layouts along with it, many of which I posted here on my blog early on.

Choices for Bathime

The bathtime LO came about because Rach posted some cute pics of Hanna in the bath. I told her I would make her a LO and I sent her some photos of various bath-themed layouts. I wasn't sure which style of scrapbooking she liked, so I thought letting her choose would allow her to get exactly (or close to it) what she wanted. She chose number 3. It's not an exact duplicate, but it's pretty darn close.

Here are the three choices I gave her:

Thank Yous

I just had a very nice phone call. It was a thank you from my friend, Patty - the one whose album I finished and just sent out. (See below) She got it and really liked it. I was very relieved. When I was wrapping it to mail, I just felt uncertain about it - like it wasn't the best it could be, that there was some things I had done wrong, that it sucked. It must have been my evil perfectionist side coming out because when I told my husband how I felt, he was stunned and told me I was crazy and that she would like it. Guess he was right and I was wrong.

Anyway, I digress. It was very nice to be thanked in person. I usually get a thank you through Facebook - which is fine, it's nice to be thanked no matter what form it comes in. But I have to say, it was really nice and surprising to hear from her in person. It was the nicest thank you I have received to date.

I've got to get on my husband about sending those thank you notes that I put by his computer a week ago, which he has not touched. (They're for his birthday gifts.) Thank yous are important.

Now, let's see - who do I need to thank that I haven't? It's best to check your own behavior before looking at other people's behavior.

Patty's Album

I finally finished Patty's "Our Story" album. I hope she likes it.

If I'm honest, this has been the most challenging album to make. It just didn't come together as I had wanted it to and I struggled with everything all the way through. When I started out, it was super fun and I was very excited but somewhere along the way I lost my enthusiasm. If you scrap, I'm sure you know what I am talking about. It may have had something to do with the fact that this is not my normal scrapping style (but I felt this style suited Patty best and fit her, so I went with it). Or it could be that I had to print the photos three times to make them right and had to redo the matting on some of them; that the paper, embellishments and glue all seemed to be against me; and, finally, that I tried some new techniques which I'm really unsure about. Anyway, I think some projects are just like that. By the time I got through, I was just glad to be done. I am looking forward to making the ship trip album, which is next.

Here is the album cover:

Here are the layouts:

(I'm sorry about the glare on the photos - when I tried taking pics without the flash, they were too dark.)
